While hacking in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is far from new, the situation on PlayStation 4 and 5 has escalated into a complete nightmare over the last few hours. A wave of malicious lobby attacks, spearheaded by a notorious player known as “C isn’t Sharp” alongside several other hackers, is actively bricking player accounts across public multiplayer.
How the Exploit Works
The exploit forcibly alters every player in an affected lobby to Prestige 16, Level 55. Because Black Ops 2 officially caps progression at 10 Prestiges (followed by Prestige Master), this invalid rank breaks profile data and permanently locks players out of finding public matches.
Worst of all, you don’t need to finish a match to get hit; the exploit can corrupt your profile whether you’re mid-game or simply sitting in a pre-game lobby.
Widespread Impact and Desperate Workarounds
Reports are flooding Reddit and community forums, with dozens of players confirming they were hit automatically without taking any action. Desperate to regain access to the game, some affected users have resorted to using the “Fresh Start” / Reset option in the Barracks.
However, this workaround is far from a guaranteed fix. While wiping stats and progression has successfully un-bricked accounts for a few players, others report that a full reset failed to solve the issue, or that the option to reset their stats was locked out entirely after getting hit by the hack.
How to Protect Your Account
While the majority of these attacks have been concentrated in the NukeJacked playlist, players are confirming identical attacks occurring in standard Team Deathmatch and other popular lobbies.
If you are currently playing Black Ops 2 on PlayStation, avoid public lobbies entirely for the time being. If you spot “C isn’t Sharp” or notice suspicious modded text in a pre-game lobby, immediately close your game application to protect your account.
